About Me

Born in Govan, Glasgow, I've lived most of my life in rural Perthshire. Life is a story and writing it down is the way I make sense of the world around me. It helps me view things through a different lens and uncover the stories that are begging to be told. Nature, art, travel, the daft things people say and what motivates them, are areas that never fail to inspire me. After years of scribbling words on till-receipts, I surrendered to their thrall. I wake in the night dreaming about words. Being inspired by a growing tribe of creative, supportive, and like-minded people fills my days. I write poetry, short stories (non-fiction and fiction). I hold a Masters in both Creative Writing and Scottish Literature. I facilitate Creative Writing groups and provide writing feedback and editing services. It is fascinating to understand how the literature of my country and its writers have shaped me and continues to do so. I finished a draft of my first novel this year . . . and so the journey continues.
